Thursday Men’s League – Match Play Format & Sign-Up Details
Must be an EFCC member
to participate.
League Format:
– Match Play Structure: Players compete hole by hole, aiming to win more holes/points than their opponent. Players earn 1 point for a tied hole and 2 points for a win. Rather than counting total strokes.
Skins! – Each week, players pay $5 to enter skins for the night and closest to the pin for the players who show up only.
– Team-Based Tracking: players’ points contribute to their team’s overall standings.
– Handicap Requirement: All players must have an established handicap to ensure fair competition.
– Season Standings: At the end of the year, the team with the most points is crowned the league champion.
Scoring & Standings:
– Weekly Matches: Players face different opponents weekly, but their results always count toward their team total.
– Team Rankings: points are recorded throughout the season, with standings updated regularly.
– Individual Recognition: The Top individual point earner will also receive a prize.
Missed Matches & Scheduling Flexibility:
– If a player cannot attend on a league night, they can schedule a match with their opponent and play the match at their Convenience.
– The cut-off date for rescheduled matches will be provided. All matches need to be made up before the end of the season or they will be scored a 9-9 tie.
– Thursday League Entry Fee: $40 per player, covering an end-of-season meal and contributing to prize funds.
– Sign-Up Deadline: May 20th.
– Sign-Up Location: Players must sign up at the pro shop before May 20th

– Weather Policy: League play will proceed regardless of conditions; players may opt to compete at their discretion.
– Sportsmanship & Etiquette: Concessions are allowed, and players are encouraged to uphold the integrity of match play competition.
